1977 – PAOLO PARODI AND THE BIRTH OF PARLUX
Paolo Parodi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, begins with a group of young collaborators, an entrepreneurial adventure destined to grow over time, until reaching global relevance.
The success of Parlux was born from the intuition of the director Paolo Parodi who decided to build the first hairdryer in the world in plastic material and to equip it with high quality components and professional features that satisfy the real needs of hairdressers.
Objective: To provide hairdressers with a professional hair dryer.
1978 – SUPERTURBO 1500
The world's first professional plastic hair dryer
One of the first products is the famous Superturbo 1500, the first plastic hair dryer in the world equipped with a truly professional motor and resistance capable of reaching the most suitable temperatures for various technical jobs, with comfortable and easy-to-use switches.
Objective: To provide hairdressers with a professional hair dryer.
1985 – SUPERTURBO 2000
The Milanese company presents itself with the creation of a brand new hairdryer, the Parlux Superturbo 2000 (1440 Watts of controlled power, 2-speed temperatures, instant cold air shot, light weight, quiet operation).
1991 – NEW SPACES FOR DESIGN
The constant development of the company requires a new large space for the management, commercial and administrative offices, quality control, research laboratory and warehouses. After the initial headquarters in Milan and Corsico, Parlux moves to what is still its headquarters today, in the municipality of Trezzano Sul Naviglio.
1997 – CERTIFICATIONS
Parlux begins the procedures for ISO 9001 certification by Sincert. The Milanese company thus becomes compliant with the standard for ISO 9001:2000 certification for "Design and Production" of electrical appliances for hairdressers.
1998 – PARLUX 2800
The new Parlux 2800 hairdryer (1760 Watts of controlled power, 2-speed temperatures, instant cold air shot, light weight, quiet operation) is presented at Cosmoprof in Bologna. For the first time, it features an ergonomic handle, which significantly facilitates the operator's grip, making their work less tiring.
1999 – PARLUX 1800
The new Parlux 1800 hairdryer arrives, combining ergonomics and lightness, with a controlled power of 1420 watts, 4 temperatures with 2 speeds, instant cold air shot and 2 front switches.
2002 – PARLUX 3000
The new Parlux 3000 model hair dryer is launched on the domestic and international market. Practical and ergonomic design, 1810 Watt power, ensures 2000 hours of work, allows 2 speeds and 4 different temperatures. The first to be available in different colors with painted plastic.
2004/2005 – PARLUX 3200
It's time for the Parlux 3200 Compact: a small, lightweight and extremely powerful hairdryer whose patent is registered worldwide.
Its new K-Lamination motor ensures power (1900 Watts), lightness, long life and an innovative geometry that allows for lower energy consumption.
In 2005, the new Ionic & Ceramic version owes its success to the ceramic that covers the insulation and the grid and to a device that emits negative ions, causing the hair to be dried very quickly and from the inside. Result: softer and healthier hair!
2007 – PARLUX 3500
The launch of the new hairdryer, the super compact Parlux 3500 model, takes place in two versions: Ionic and Standard. The dimensions of the hairdryer are significantly reduced, its weight is reduced but it is able to offer better performance.
2010 – PARLUX 3800
Parlux 3800: combines the best of previous models.
The great innovation of the integrated silencer will prove to be the prelude to the Melody Silencer. For the first time, it is possible to offer a more powerful and increasingly silent appliance. This is also the year of the introduction of the Eco-Friendly philosophy; the company is sensitized in the creation and marketing of products with a “low environmental impact”.
2011 – PARLUX MELODY SILENCER
For the first time in the world, an accessory is launched that, when applied to the suction of any Parlux hair dryer, significantly reduces its noise. This is a revolutionary product, designed for the hearing well-being of the hairdresser and his clients. “For a salon without noise”.
2012 – ELISA PARODI
Dr. Elisa Parodi, daughter of Mr. Paolo Parodi, assists the administration in company management.
2013 – PARLUX 385 POWERLIGHT
Parlux 385 PowerLight® is born, ultra-light and powerful, thanks to the K-Lamination motor, ergonomic, balanced and silent. Inside the 385 PowerLight®, the now tested and indispensable Ionic & Ceramic system, which allows you to obtain shinier and silkier hair. Available in ten different colors, from the most traditional to the most vibrant and trendy,
It soon became the best-selling hairdryer all over the world, in its many colourful versions, from the most traditional to the liveliest and trendiest.
2016 – PARLUX ADVANCE
At Cosmoprof Worldwide 2016 in Bologna, the brand new Parlux ADVANCE® is presented on the market for the first time, an innovative, technologically advanced and futuristic hair dryer. The K-Advance motor guarantees up to 2,500 hours of use, with optimal performance for daily work in the salon.
2017 – 40th ANNIVERSARY
On the occasion of Parlux's fortieth anniversary, the Milanese company creates a "limited edition" of the brand new Parlux ADVANCE® in a matt blue color and with the 40 years logo. This edition will be available until December 2017.
2018 – PARLUX ALYON
At Cosmoprof Worldwide 2018 in Bologna, Parlux presents the brand new Parlux ALYON®, an innovative, technologically advanced hairdryer with a futuristic design. Parlux ALYON®, which for the first time incorporates the HFS - Hair Free System device, contains the maximum in technology. The high quality of all components is designed to satisfy the most demanding hairdressers.
2018 – PARLUX ARDENT
Also at Cosmoprof Worldwide 2018 in Bologna, Parlux presents for the first time a hairdryer dedicated to Barber salons, the Parlux ARDENT®. With a vintage line and finish, the Parlux ARDENT® retains all the quality features and advanced technology present on the most modern Parlux hairdryers, so as to satisfy professionals who work not only on hair but also on beards and moustaches.
2019 – PARLUX 3200 PLUS
At Cosmoprof Bologna 2019, Parlux relaunches a great classic of the house and presents the Parlux 3200 PLUS. The technological restyling of this model combines power with a new concept of suction, ensuring greater air flow, greater silence and faster drying.
2020 – ANTIBACTERIAL PAINT
In 2020 Parlux presents a novelty on the best-selling Parlux Alyon® model: the paint with Antibacterial Technology. The hairdryer is painted with a special certified antimicrobial treatment, enriched with silver powder, which creates a surface unfavorable to the proliferation of microorganisms and helps maintain the hygiene of the appliance.
2020 – MAGICSENSE® DIFFUSER
The other important innovation of 2020 is contained in the MagicSense® Diffuser, the special diffuser that revolutionizes the drying of curly hair, to obtain perfect curls without messing up. The first Parlux hairdryer with a professional digital motor
In 2022 Parlux focuses on electronics and returns to Cosmoprof Bologna with a new hairdryer: Parlux DIGITALYON®, whose technical features and professional digital motor increase its power, temperature, lightness and silence, placing it at the top of the category and allowing the most demanding professional to obtain perfect folds in less time.
Together with the Parlux DIGITALYON®, the new SLIM nozzle, designed to create a “straightener effect”, giving hair straightening and polishing in just a few steps.
